What is Voetry?
Voetry or Video Poetry is an emerging artform of short poetry film. Voetry brings together the text of poetry with the sonic expression of music and sound and the images of cinema to create an immersive experience for the intellect and senses.

Award winning Voetry artists: poet Ambrosia, composer Donna Hewitt and video artist John Montgomery showcased their latest collaborations including works recently showcased at international film festivals including the Montreal Independent Film Festival 2022, BlissFest 333 2022 and the Los Angeles Poetry Film Festival 2023. Attendees experienced in immersive sound, the award winning work Nuit (Night), the internationally selected works Dans La Maison (In the House) and Les Signes du Temps (Signs of Time), and the premiere of their latest works Discordance, Ambrosia and Aurora.

The event featured a presentation of a new music video of Donna Hewitt’s musical work Sentient. Donna Hewitt has collaborated with John Montgomery to bring this work to the screen, exploring themes of artificial intelligence and cyborg consciousness.

The evening was capped off with a live multi-media poetry performance by Ambrosia, and a lively and interactive panel discussion with the artists about their work.
